How to take care of your wool sweater?

Our knitwear is made from quality fibers that require special attention.

To ensure your wool garments last longer, it is important to care for them properly. Here are a few tips.

WASHING

Hand washing is recommended for caring for your knitwear.

  • It is essential to wash your sweater in cold water (maximum 20°C); washing in hot water could cause it to shrink.
  • Use a small amount of special wool detergent, preferably liquid, and avoid fabric softeners that could damage the fibers of your sweater.
  • Immerse your sweater in cold water without twisting or rubbing it.
  • Hand washing should be done without "soaking" to avoid damaging the knit.
  • Rinse your sweater in clear water without twisting it.
  • Lay the sweater flat on a bath towel, roll up the towel, and press down on it. Do not attempt to wring or twist it, as this could distort its shape.

Washing in a machine on a "hand wash" cycle is also possible.

In this case:

  • Wash in cold water.
  • Use a small amount of special wool detergent, preferably liquid, and avoid fabric softeners that could damage the fibers of your sweater.
  • Wash inside out to prevent snagging.
  • Use a laundry bag if possible.
  • Choose the minimum spin cycle (should not exceed 400 revolutions per minute).
  • Our merino wool is dry cleanable if stubborn stains cannot be removed.

DRYING

  • The knitwear should be dried flat, away from direct sunlight, to preserve its shape and original color.
  • Do not hang your sweater on a hanger, as the weight of the water could stretch the fibers and distort it.
  • Never put your sweater in the dryer or expose it to a heat source (radiator, towel warmer), as it could shrink.

PILLING

Pilling refers to the formation of small balls of fiber in areas subject to friction. The shorter fibers of your knitwear, over time, intertwine due to rubbing, forming a pill or fluff. This is a natural phenomenon and not a sign of poor quality.

If you notice pilling on your sweater, we recommend using a cashmere comb. Gently comb your sweater to remove the excess fibers.
